Thank you so much to everyone who has given so far to help us bring home Baby M! Y’all have been so generous in your giving, and we are on our way to meeting our goal. We are currently at 278 pieces (see above!) and are grateful for every last one. We have been able to complete the border of the puzzle and then some. We sat down to write the first round of names on the puzzle pieces and were able to pray for each name as we wrote it. Many of the names have been with us during the ups and downs of life and know us well. But there are also names of people we have never met that were moved by our story and inspired to give. We have been overcome with gratitude and in awe of how God is providing through all of YOU.
After getting a physical, drug test, and TB test at the doctor as part of our home study!
We had a checklist of things that needed to be done for our apartment prior to the in person visit of our home study! One of those included getting a fire extinguisher (oops, maybe we should have already owned one of these?).
We finished collecting all the needed documents and the interview process of our home study! We really enjoyed meeting with our social worker. She has adopted twice and was personally and professionally able to educate us on the many aspects of adoption. She also helped us talk through a lot of parenting topics and left us with questions to continue mulling over together. Once our social worker types up our information and finalizes it, we will be approved! Yay! One major step closer to going active!
Our next step is to start working on our profile book. This is how the prospective birth parent(s) will get to know us as a couple. We will be able to share our story and details of our life together through photos and words. This book is the first, and often the only, impression that she/they will have of us. No pressure at all ;)
We know without a doubt that its going to take a village of people to bring this baby home! Please consider sharing our posts on social media about our puzzle fundraiser and by word of mouth with the people in your life. If all goes as planned, it is looking like we will be an active waiting couple and ready to be matched with an expectant mother in July! Our hope is to have the puzzle complete so that we have the funds to say yes to potential matches. We will continue updating y’all on the progress of the puzzle and our adoption adventure!
